Best known for his poetry, Langston Hughes is a literary giant. Sadly, I only discovered him in 2020. In my quest to diversify my reading, I found his first memoir, The Big Sea. I fell head over heels in love with his writing. And then I began acquiring as many of his works as possible. And loving them all.
“He watched the blue-grey dawn blot out the night in the sky; and then pearl-grey blot out the blue, while the stars faded to points of dying fire.” – Not Without Laughter
